MeLE kALikImaKA fRoM RomE!!!!!~~~

Mua haha... That's "Merry Christmas" in Hawaiian oh! =) And am in ROME!!!!! =D

Blogging from the hostel we are staying in, Mona Lisa. Haha... Tell u what, this hostel is great! If anyone of u were to come to Rome in the future, do come and put a night over here. The facilities provided are awesome and the management team are superb!! They are friendly, helpful, and they speak fluent English most importantly. Haha... Am enjoying my stay here... =)

However, so far the experiences in Italy are kinda bad though. First night, we arrived in Milan. We had to take the subway to reach the tourist spots, but there was no one working at the ticket counter. We had to buy the tickets from the ticket machine, which was in Italiano!! Goodness... Was totally lost... Then got cheated by this stupiak SOB... Actually, he literally snatched my money away from me. Luckily I was smart and fast enough to react, so he only managed to get 10Euros out of my purse. Idiot!! Long story.. Will post more about it after I get back to Glasgow le..

Then we took the night train from Milan to Rome. It was on a "free seating" basis. We thought it was no big deal, not like we were that particular about where to sit. But we were obviously wrong!! "Free seating" means they will accept as many customers as they could, without considering the number of seats available on the train!! The train was freaking packed!! We couldn't even squeeze onto the train initially. Finally, we got ourselves in but we had to stand all through the ride, which would last for 8 hours... OH MY GOSH!!! All the stupiak smokers standing next to us kept smoking every 5 minutes somemore. Wah liao!! Hello, confined area wei!!~ Use ur brain la!! Luckily we managed to squeeze ourselves into the corridor around 1 hour later and we sat on our luggages to sleep. Sad case wei... Like homeless ppl... Couldn't really sleep also cause it was really very uncomfortable and those stupiak smokers kept walking in and out to smoke. Gosh... What a night, man!!

Things got better when we reached Rome yesterday. At least ppl here do speak English. We visited the Palentino and reached the highlight of Rome, i.e. the Colosseum at around 335p.m. only to be told that it was closed 5 mins before we arrived. WAH LIAO EH!!!! What the heck?? So early???!! We bought the tickets already actually.. Depressed betul... We thought of visiting it again today, but it's not opened. Christmas ma.. Sob sob sniff sniff... Could only meraba-raba the wall and waved Bye Bye to it... T_T

Anyway, today we are going to Vatican City to say "Hi ya" to the pope. Haha... Felt much better after a good night sleep. And u know why I have so much time to blog? Because except for me and Wern, all my travelling mates overslept... Dots... And they slept earlier than us somemore... Even the "tour guide" Xing Wu De overslept... A whole bunch of pigs!!! I had to wake them up 15 mins before the management team cleared the breakfast away. Otherwise, they would have to starve all the way to Vatican City... God knows if they would be too hungry till they eat the pope alive!! XD Wakakaka...

Ok la... I guess that's all for today. Looking forward to our visit to the Vatican City... Must borrow the "hat" from the pope and take picture with it... Kakaka... XD

Till then, see ya!! =D

Another homey day!

Didn't go anywhere. Just stayed home to do some packing and research for Milan. Tired + wanted to Skype with parents, I didn't follow Wern they all in bringing Xing Wu De to look see look see around the Glasgow University area. Once again, SORRY!!!!!~~~ XP

At night, I did join their potluck dinner though. Me and Wen Jiun & co. cooked Nam Yu fried pork again, using the leftover Nam Yu and pork from the other day. Jiun didn't know that the pork was already seasoned and she happily marinated them with 6 pieces of Nam Yu somemore. In the end, our Nam Yu pork became Nam Yu bacon... (-_-") Super salty, man!! Even Lau Wee Yeaw also said it's a little bit salty... Haha... Sorry, ppl!! =P

Actually we claimed that the Nam Yu bacon was Nam Yu chicken in an attempt to lure Khang Wern to tasting it. But her taste bud was very geng, man! She knew it was pork the moment she put it into her mouth and rushed to the rubbish bin to throw it back out... Gagal!!~ =P

Also, I made 2 pieces of coffee chicken under the request of Lu Yi, and in compensation for not accompanying Xing Wu De out, of which Husky Hee Sheong (after coming back from Kiruna, he starts thinking that he's a husky, rather than a human being. Must be the cold weather that has got his brain damaged... Sigh...) happily asked if it was shao1 jiao1 (burnt) chicken... Grrrr... Haha... Anyway, I cooked the shao jiao chicken at Wen Jiun's place. Not very used to using the wok and stove at her place. So I overcooked the chicken in the end. The flesh was a little bit hard. Haha... Paisay!!~ =P

Came back home after that to continue some packing for Italy + Paris trip.

And this will be my last post till I am back from vacation! Just realize that I haven't blogged a bout my trip to Germany and Czech last summer yet. Mua haha... What a lazy blogger I am! =P

Housemates, welcome back from Kiruna (even though I won't be around already by the time u all read this post.. haha..)!! Have a safe trip to London, alright? Don't miss me too much ya!! Wakakaka.. =P

Till then, see ya!! =D

hOMe aLoNE d@Y 5

Huhu... Did nothing much basically... Woke up in the morning then started doing aunty stuffs like wiped the shoes la, did laundry la, packed this packed that la, and etc. in preparation of my Italy + Paris trip on the 23rd. Been out for the last few days, so didn't really have time for all these aunty stuffs lor... That's also why I didn't follow Wern, Yi Jie, and Lu Yi out to pick Xing Wu De (Moo Moo Liang) up from Buchanan bus station when he arrived at about 1230p.m. Paisay paisay.. Am feeling kinda guilty de actually... XP

Saw them coming back while I was on the way to the laundry room to dry my clothes. I was in t-shirt and short pants only. Managed to "Hello Hello" for a while before I got frozen. Haha... Then, they brought him out to go jalan-jalan around Buchanan + Argyle area while I stayed back home to dry my clothes (aunty dao!!) and do some research for our trip to Milan (at least this one sounds posh... kaka...).

Planned to have early dinner together at The Goose at 4p.m. but because of the cold weather outside, all of them were famished at 3p.m. and asked to bring forward our dinner appointment. Note, it's DINNER, ok? At 3 o'clock in the afternoon!!!!! Gosh... Haha.. Most probably because it was a Friday, all the bars were so crowded, man! We couldn't find enough seats in The Goose and after much hassles in looking around, we finally ended up in Counting House. Xing Wu De was super duper quiet over the dinner. Jet lag? Or maybe because there was a stranger, i.e. Lu Yi and so he was a wee bit shy shy?? Kakaka.. XD

Went walking around George Square area after dinner. Freezing cold wei... Nearly everyone couldn't stand the coldness (I found it rather OK though... receptors rosak liao maybe.. haha...) and we headed home after half an hour of merayau-rayau.

Then we started making tang yuan in J7, the kandang for Moo Moo throughout his stay in Glasgow. XD We mashed sweet potatoes and mixed them together with the glutinuous rice flour. Also, we used red beans paste and mashed sweet potatoes as the inti for some of the tang yuan. Creative leh? XD And thanks to Yi Jie who couldn't estimate the amount of flour and water to add, the glutinous rice ball just kept turning bigger and bigger till in the end, all of us suffered from tang-yuan-overdose. But it was quite fun la... All of us had a great time... =)

Oh ya oh ya!! We made one special Nutella tang yuan as well!! We said that whoever was lucky enough to get this Nutella tang yuan would be the first to get married among us!! And guess what? Miss Hu Yi Jie was the honoured one!! Wakakaka... She panickly passed the tang yuan to Xing Wu De, who in turn broke the good news to us. Xing Wu De was forced to swallow down the Nutella tang yuan by Miss Hu Yi Jie. Hmm... So, I came out with this conclusion that, because they shared the lucky Nutella tang yuan, both of them will get married early, God knows maybe to each other, and then live happily ever after???!! Mua hahahhaa.... XD

Came home after that to continue with my "research" and zzZzz.... By the way, I got a Christmas card from Yeang Wee and Gordon. What a surprise! Hehe... Thanks so much buttockS!! XD And Gordon Pang, any more lame ah u? XP

Anyway, welcome to Glasgow, Xing Wu De!! =D

Whoa!! CHAR SIEW to the max!!!

Woke up around 8a.m. as I ter-K.O. early the night before. Replied family mail, had heavy breakfast (2 pieces of bread with peanut butter spread + cereal + milk), then went to the bank to withdraw money and gave to Ah Bao so that she could help me to exchange them into Euros. Met up with Joey, Ja Yee, Choy Leng, Leah, Xin Hui, and Alicia after that to go for my very first movie here in Glasgow, i.e. Enchanted!! =D

One thing weird about Glaswegian cinema is that it's based on a free seating basis!! So no matter how early u buy ur movie ticket, u are not necessarily guaranteed to a good seat. Another thing different from Malaysian's cinema is that instead of switching on the air conditioner, they switched on the heater. Haha.. of course la! Wanna freeze to death meh? Actually hor, even though this Cineworld is known as the World's Tallest Cinema (note, it's not that tall as well after all.. just 5 or 6 storeys maybe?), I honestly still think our very own Midvalley GSC is so much bigger and looks so much more grand comparatively lo.. Most probably because ppl here are not as crazy as us over movies ba. When I told my IPL group members that I so wanna watch The Golden Compass, they actually paused for a few seconds before figuring out what the heck was that. I was like, "Nicole Kidman!!! Daniel Craig!!! AAHhh~" but they just stared blankly back at me... DUH!!!!! Potong stim betul!! (><")

Ok ok.. Back to Enchanted... As it was a weekday, basically there were only 7 of us plus around 5 ang mohs in the big theatre.. So we lauged our heads off like nobody's business la. Kakaka... =P It was quite a nice show. The soundtracks were very catchy, too. Xin Hui and Ah Cia got addicted to the song "How Do You Know" after the show. Haha.. The storyline was quite a brilliant one, even though it's not all that logical la. Christmas movie ma... Just sheer blast of happiness. But I am not saying that it's a bad thing though. At least I enjoyed the show. Felt really happy and cheerful after watching. Hehe.. Think Amy Adams looks a lot like Kirsten Dunst la. Haha.. And she's pretty! =) Loves her purplish night gown. Aww.. Santa Claus, can I have it as my Christmas present, pls? XD

Went shopping around after that to continue my hunt for a winter jacket. Well, I should say, to give myself more excuses to char siew the GAP jacket and eliminate the rest. Not water resistant la, not thick enough la, not stylish enough la, for this price I would rather spend a wee bit more to get the GAP one la, and etc. So, I finally managed to convince myself that there was NO better bargain out there. I have all the reasons to char siew the GAP jacket. Kakaka... Spent such a long time in the fitting room choosing the colour. In the end, I decided to go for the white colour one. I know it gets dirty easily la, but I still find it the most adorable leh... Dun wanna betray my heart.. Kaka.. XD Hence, I paid up, officially turning myself into a GAP girl again, then walked out of of the shop with a super big bag with super big "GAP"s printed on it, and looked proudly around at all the passerby.

"YUP!! It's GAP!!!!! Rich Asian I am, huh? Mua hahahha..." XP

CHAR SIEW!!!!! super shiok la... XD

Came back home after that to become tukang masak. Haha.. Cooked myself chicken with Dopiaza cooking sauce and fried round lettuce for dinner. Hehe.. Yummy yummy... =P

Went over to Wern's place later on at night for trip's discussion again. Booked our tickets to Paris Disneyland!! Woohoo~ 32 pounds per person for a "1 day 1 park" ticket, man!! But I seriously don't mind because it's Disneyland!!!!! Am so gonna get myself a Disney cartoon character's soft toy!! Wakakaka... Hopefully I will still have enough Euros left by that time to char siew la.. Eurgh... And Chua Ah Ming, stop despising me!!! Soft toys ARE cute, OK???!! XP

By the way, I bought myself TREsemme hairmask as well. Seriously tak boleh tahan my hair getting all tangled up after shampooing. The stupiak dry weather la... Been losing so much hair lately wei... Will become a botak soon if I choose to ignore it lor... Grrrr....

Aahhh... I am feeling like a piece of big fat char siew with oil dripping down at the moment... *drip drip drip...* XD

hOMe aLoNE d@Y 3

Woke up at around 11a.m. by the stupiak fire alarm test drill that got me jumped out of the bed. Grrrr... Made myself breakfast (struggling hard to finish the 2 loaves of breads my generous housemates left for me... EeWWw!!) then started blogging about "hOMe aLoNE d@Y 2". Completed the post at about 1p.m. Ahh... It's lunch time! MUST have something to eat even though I just had breakfast 2 hours ago. For the sake of leading a healthy lifestyle, u see? Kekeke... =P

So, I cooked myself a super BIG bowl of kway tiao soup with chicken, vege, and egg!! Ngek ngek.. Oh well, I underestimated the portion when cooking... Not my fault for overeating... *shrugged* XD Hang fook~~

After bathing and calling back home, I went out to hunt for winter jacket again, keeping in mind that I MUST go to Topshop at the end of the day to get my skinny flare jeans. Kaka.. Went to Buchanan area and my adrenaline started pumping when I saw the GAP poster with "BIG SALES" printed so vividly. Barged in without second thought and indeed, almost all the items were discounted, with some up to 75%!!!!! OOSH... so much cheaper than their normal prices!! Went into the fitting room with both my hands loaded with clothes and pants. Kaka... =P

Tried on a winter jacket labelled with "Warmest Extra-Chaud". Super comfy, man!! Fell in love immediately.. Grey- and black-coloured one were discounted from 68 to 48 pounds while the white-colour one was discounted to 39.90 pounds only!! *Don't ask me why cause I have no idea why they were doing this as well* Too bad the design wasn't that trendy, and I looked a wee bit like a bear in it. Ish ish... Decided to shortlist it and promised myself to come back again for it if I couldn't find a better bargain after looking around. Hehe...

Now, here comes the discovery of the day... *drum rolling* TADA!! I found a pair of boot cut jeans from GAP that cost 12.99 pounds only!!!!! The original price was 29.90 pounds!! Better still, it fitted me just nice!!!!! Well, actually not exactly just nice la... The length was slightly little bit too long for me. But, who cares?!! Just sew or fold it up la!! DUH~~ Mua haha... I mean, come on man! Nowadays, even back in Malaysia it's so freaking hard to get a pair of jeans that cost less than RM100 already, not to mention it's a GAP jeans le wei!!!!! W00t w00t~~ ^^ Paid up immediately to officially declare myself as a GAP girl. Wakakaka... Char siew!! Char siew!!! XP

Aahhh... The char siew feeling is finally back... Can't even remember when was the last time I splurged. Moreover, this is not splurging, ok? It's what u call practical!! Compare it with the 40 pounds Topshop jeans that I nearly bought... Tsk tsk tsk... Although it has no skinny whatsoever terms printed anywhere on it for me to show off with, I have subconsciously convinced myself that it WAS a S.K.I.N.N.Y boot cut jeans that I had bought. Lalala~~ XD

Came home in a lifted mood. Don't u think it makes such a good excuse to binge eat??! So I made myself cheese baked rice with fried chicken, and fried round lettuce for dinner!! Huhuhu... Yum yum... =P Also, Xin Hui invited me to go for Christmas Caroling at her place, and of course, I attended happily. Hehe.. Had a great time there... Thanks Xin Hui dear for calling me along.. =)

After that went to Yi Jie's place to discuss some stuffs regarding our trip to Italy and Paris. Wasn't very productive cause we spent loads of time trying to find out public tranportation that could bring us directly from Bergamo airport to Milan's city centre. My bad... I am the person in-incharged of Milan, but I didn't do my homework well. Bao, Yi Jie and Wern, I AM SO SORRY!!!!!~~~ XP

That's all that had happened in Day 3 lo... Loaded with events as well... Housemates, see, am having such a good time without the three of u around. Kakaka... No la no la.. Joking only la.. Kinda miss u all actually de... Hehe... =P

YAY!!! Got new jeans to wear lor... XD

hOMe aLoNE d@Y 2

Yet another round of BINGE EATING!!!!!!!! XP

Planned to wake up around 9a.m. in the morning to go out kai kai, but the consequence of sleeping at 5a.m. rendered the attempt failure. Woke up at 1130a.m. instead as a result of handyman knocking on the door. Decided to ignore him since I was alone at home and my hair was in the "lion state". So, he entered with his own keys and I decided to continue sleeping and to pretend as if no one was at home. Lazy wanna go entertain him la...

Then, woke up again at 130p.m. cause bladder was on the edge of exploding. No choice. Went to the toilet then to the kitchen to get the handyman stunned/frightened. He thought no one was around. Haha... =P Had cereal as brunch (dearest housemates, I think I've started to love cereal already. Kaka.. ) then off I went to Argyle Street to hunt for my winter jacket.

Nearly Zara-fied myself. Such a stylish + nice jacket, man!! Figure hugging somemore wei... But it was sooOO stylish that I actually looked weird wearing it together with my jeans, sling bag & sport shoes. A pair of boots would go perfectly well with it, but argh, I haven't found boots that I really like yet. It has no hood, which means I would have to get a stylish beanie to go with it. Need a handbag, too. Sling bag becomes nonsence the moment u have this jacket on u. Chua Pei Ling with a handbag rather than her signature sling bag? Gosh.. Can't imagine... So much hidden expenses somemore. I finally put it back on shelf, and left Zara with my mind kept wondering, "Should I? Should I?"

Couldn't find any nice jacket in other shops, but I started hunting for stuffs to go along with that jacket. Saw this skinny flare jeans from Topshop and I decided to give it a try just for the heck of it. Wah liao!! Fitted me well eh!!!!! W00t W00t~~ ^^ For those human-stick bimboS out there, u would never understand the excitement + pleasure to find urself being able to fit ur fatty bom bom & lipid loaded thighs through a pair of skinny jeans lor. U dunno what u've been missing, man! Mua hahaha... I mean, S.K.I.N.N.Y jeans wei!! Kinda like given me no excuse not to make it mine, right? But I had to leave in a rush as I had "hang fook" dinner appointment with Vermicelli Law. Never mind, cause I think 10 out of 10 I will go back again for it. Kekekekeke... XP

Talking about "hang fook" dinner. Residents of JBC unit H7 and J7 decided to have an early celebration of Dong Zhi (Winter Auspice?) this year. Nine course meal wei!! Don't play play ah~ We had fried lettuce, lor mai kai, braised chicken feet & mushroom, white carrot soup, fried wantan, steamed fish, nam yu fried pork, and ice-cream!! OOSH!!!!! Who needs Asian Style MSG-loaded food when u could have such sumptuous home-cooked feast?? Super duper yummilicious!!!!! Hang fook till the last bit of it!!!!! XD

Immediately after that, with stomach still bloated and tummy bulging out, we proceeded to the most fun part of Dong Zhi, i.e. making tang yuen (glutinuous rice balls)!!!!! Huhuhu... I made red beans paste and together with Gula Melaka, they became the inti of the tang yuen!! Funny thing was that the tang yuen didn't float and were still hard even after we boiled them for more than half an hour... Then, Vermicelli Law went to dig out the flour packet from the rubbish bin (I suppose.. EewWw!!) and found out that Bao Bao actually bought the wrong flour!! Haha.. Instead of glutinuous rice flour, it was white rice flour that we used!! No wonder!!! Hahaha... So much of our effort, of course we wouldn't dump it. Moreover, the pandan leaves + ginger soup base was superb, man!! We finished everything still the same, with me, Vermicelli Law, and Bao Bao eating the most needless to say... XP Hang fook for another round~~~ HOOooo... XD

Housemates, me actually thought of reserving some for u all de lo. But because the tang yuen didn't turn out as expected and sugar-loaded ginger soup base was not that healthy after all, Vermicelli Law and I decided to sacrifice ourselves and helped to finish ur portions. So sweet of us, isn't it? I KNOW!!! XD

Stayed back to chat for a while after dinner and came back home at about 1230a.m. Like Cinderella, I started cleaning up the kitchen, toilet, and hallway of our unit in the middle of the night. Haha.. Cause handyman came in the afternoon ma.. We don't have the habit of wearing shoes at home, yet handyman stepped onto all those places with his shoes on. Geli la when I started imagining me stepping bare feet on whatever left behind from the shoes that he wore to almost everywhere.. YUCKS!!! So, I vacummed with Henry and mopped the floor in Japanese style lo. Then bathed, replied mail, and zzZzZ... XD

Aahhh... What an eventful day... =D

Thanks H7 and J7 for the wonderful dinner and companionship!! Love ya ppl to the max!! MUACKS and HUGZ... <3

hOMe aLoNE d@Y 1

Woohoo~ Exam's over!! Been Aly & AJ-ing on Youtube since I came back from sending housemates off at the Central Station just now. Kakaka.. And Yup!! Off the three of them to Kiruna, Sweden for vacation with Chew Yee, Lee Yin, and Chua Ah Ming... I was actually dying to go Kiruna lor, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it just didn't work out. Long story... Anyway, I didn't follow and am therefore home alone!!!!! =P

Wasn't that bad after all... Even though I got totally disturbed when I realized that stupiak Tudou is no longer working on my laptop!! I also dunno why... It's just that the video clips were there, but they would never start buffering... Grrrrr... Also, felt a bit (a bit bit only lar... not too much..) lonely cause the whole house was like so quiet, without the presence of my three noisy housemates... Kakaka... XD

Luckily Fhern and her darling saved my day by bringing over 2 super cheese-overdosed Farmfood instant pizzas for dinner!! Made super kao Aldi hot chocolate to go along with the pizzas somemore.. We did try to reduce the guilt factors by having a bowl of salad as the appetizer.. Am ignoring the thousand island dressing on the salad, you see? Then, we munched on Aldi maple and pecan crunch while watching TV. Nearly couldn't stop as it simply tasted so good!! BINGE EATING!!!!! Gosh..... XP

By the way, we were amazed by how UK citizens got so excited over the visit of their Queen. We tried to put ourselves in their shoes and wondered what we would do if we were told that "Blah Blah Blah" from the parliament is visiting our Taman's... Well, hmm... Nvm.. XD

And they introduced me to Hard Gay before leaving, too. Watch the video clip below if u are interested in finding out more. Ngek ngek ngek... I know u are... =P

Oh ya!! And I got a surprise early Christmas present from Chan See today, of which she wrongly-placed in Woon Chin's pigeon hole. Kakaka... XD Anyways, it was so sweet of u, lao po!! Thanks so much!!!!! MUACKS!!!!! Hugz... =)

Not to forget, Fhern & Wai Meng, thank u so much for ur companionship. It was very thoughtful of u both for willing to accept me as the lamp post of the night... =P

Aah... Life's good.. =D

Came across this recipe few days ago and I decided to give it a try last night. In very good mood ma, after seeing sleet for the first time in my entire life.. Keke.. It turned out to be rather successful!! Hohoho... Am not gonna tell u what sort of ingredients I added to give it the yellowish-brownish colour.. Just assume it's some virtually fat free coloured-paste, alright? =P

I'M SORRY KT!!!!!~~~

Felt kinda bad towards KT Tunstall after my previous post... I seriously suck in expressing myself.. Think I made it sound as if Aly & AJ are way better than KT. But the fact is, this is definitely not what I meant!! I just wanted to say that I prefer the melody of Aly & AJ's cover to the melody of KT's original version. Maybe it's because I could relate to Aly & AJ's cover more since we are of closer age? Anyway, I MUST really reiterate that

KT IS AWESOME!!!!! KT IS AMAZING!!!!!

I'm currently addicted to her and her music as well!! What a wonderful singer and musician she is!! Such unique voice she has!! She's so good at live that it always sounds just like the studio recorded version, and sometimes, even better!!! Watch her performing looping live with her "wee bastard" here and get ready to be amazed...

Black Horse & the Cherry Tree (Live)

Live performance wise, this is indeed more captivating than Aly & AJ's, I must say. Gosh!! No wonder ppl say "Man cannot multitask", but never "woman"!! XD

Suddenly I See (Live)

So talented and so pretty!! I actually wikipedia-ed her to find out that she's 1/2 Irish, 1/4 Scottish and 1/4 Chinese!!!!! Huhu.. What a stalker I am, huh?! XP

Other Side of the World (MTV)

This song is about long distance relationship. It's such a beautiful song!!!~~ I have been listening to it for no less than 30 times already today. Seriously!! Haha... XP

Hold On (MTV)

This is the first song to be released off her latest album "Drastic Fantastic". KT is simply SOOOO cute and pretty here!!!!! XD

AAH... AM IN LOVE AGAIN!!!!!~~~ KT ROCKS BIG TIME!!!!! ^o^

OH MY GOSH!!~

Still remember my post on Aly & AJ's "Potential Breakup Song"? Tell u what.. Am already hooked up on them and their music within just these few days time!! They are seriously great!!!

This is the video of them covering KT Tunstall's "Black Horse & The Cherry Tree" LIVE!! Am sure u guys know who KT Tunstall is, right? She's one of the most famous singers from Scotland. She's real good, but...

in my humble opinion, I prefer Aly & AJ's cover SOOOO much more!!!!! Bear in mind that they did this live and they are still so young!!! Aly (center) is only 18 this year while AJ (right) is only 16!!!!! Goodness... Hope they will have this recorded into their next album... ^^

Ah Ganas Voon asked if I would go support them if they come to Glasgow. My answer was, "Definitely"!! Haha.. Doubt they will actually, but I will be optimistic nonetheless.. =D

Ahh... AM IN LOVE!!!!! XOXO!!!!! XD

S.A.C.K.E.D

Fried sotong!! Super delicious!! Oosh!! XP

Was officially fired by Sports World today for mistakes that I am not even sure were done by me???

Last Saturday was my first working day after having my induction training 3 weeks ago. As per the company policy, my supervisor checked the till that I was working on before I left. She told me there was a shortage of three 20 pounds notes, but an extra of three 10 pounds notes. Hence, I must have made mistakes while giving change to the customers, i.e. mixing up the 20 and 10 pounds notes.

Well, I seriously dunno how she came up with that conclusion. I could accept if she just told me there was a shortage of 30 pounds altogether. But HOW ON EARTH could she have known that I mixed the notes up? She weren't even there when I was on duty. I remember checking and re-confirming the change everytime before I gave them to the customers.. Could I have made the mistakes?

Could it be that the three 20 pounds notes weren't missing but were changed to 5 pounds notes already instead? A transaction of 60 pounds could be paid with three 20 pounds or six 10 pounds or twelve 5 pounds or a mixture of them!! How could she be so sure? The flow of customers were so huge somemore on that day...
Could she have simply done the calculation wrongly?? She counted the money without my presence... Hmm...

I just know that there was no evidence to prove my innocence and that it wouldn't be convincing even if I explain. So, I just had to admit that it WAS my mistake.

My supervisor was kinda nice, though. She told me not to worry too much since it's normal for trainee to make mistakes, but I should be more careful next time and that she would go through the training with me again. She mentioned that it was also possible that the person who arranged the petty cash earlier on had put the notes in the wrong trays, which later on lead to MY mistakes. Whatever it was, I was told to go back again for my shift on Wednesday, i.e. today.

I was summoned to the office before I even started working... I was so naive to actually think that there might be some stocks in the office, waiting to be put onto the shelves, and that's why I was called upon there...

Obviously it didn't turn out that way...

I was told that I had to go... My supervisor reported the loss to the manager, Richie (who bravo-ly happened to be the one who initially didn't allow me and Lu Yi to work for not having a National Insurance number) and thus, he made the decision of sacking me.. According to him, one mistake was acceptable, but since I had mixed up three 20 pounds with 10 pounds, I had made the same mistake thrice and so I had to go...

WTH?!?!? What sort of conclusion was that? Again, HOW ON EARTH could they have known that I made (assuming I did) the mistakes under three different occasions? Couldn't I have handed them out together at one go, for example, while giving 30 pounds change back to the customer???

I really couldn't help but wonder if Richie had intentionally seized the opportunity to send me off because of his ridiculous no-NI-and-so-you-can't-work theory??? It's totally legal!! Just that he himself is too ignorant to be aware of it!!!

Also, when I worked in Hong Kong Cafe last time, the change to be given back was not even displayed on the monitor. I had to do the calculation by heart yet I never made any of such mistake. Could I have done so when this time, the amount to be given back was clearly displayed? I really wonder... Was it a set-up???

Sigh... What else can I say? Suan le ba... Didn't even bother to explain since it wouldn't make any difference in the end.. Moreover, it's not like I can't make the ends meet without this job.. Maybe I should even thank them for not accusing me of stealing?!?!?

But it's kinda stupiak that I woke up so early this morning just to be informed that I had been sacked by them!! Couldn't they have told me earlier on? Wasted my precious sleeping hours only... Grrrr...
Feeling kinda sucky now.. Aiya... Whatever la... Shit them... It's their loss for sacking me anyways.
So City G8, here I come!!! Haha...

SoNY eRIcSsON k800i VS SaMSuNg U600

Alright alright.. Am simply bored from reading journals... So anyone who got offenced by this post, please have mercy on me, okie? =P

These are photos of the same carving in Kama Sutra restaurant taken by me using K800i (on the left) and Vermicelli Law using U600 (on the right). Both are camera phones of 3.2 Megapixel. I captured mine within 1 second while Fhern freezed in her position for like what? 5 seconds? Ppl, u now know which phone is a better choice, right?

Obviously the one on the left is of better quality, right?
Enlarge them & compare!

Uh hum.. Am MORE practical and LESS char siew than Vermicelli Law!! YAY!!!~~ XD

Wu liao... (- -")

mY fIRst cHEesEc@kE!!!!!~~~ 2

While makan-ing... XD

IT

Been wanting to watch Stephen King's "IT" so much since months ago... Childhood nightmare ma... So upon receiving ah ming's invitation of watching the show together at her place, I accepted without even thinking twice. We went through so much hassle of shifting around and borrowing speakers from Ah Xin before me, ah ming, and May finally settled down, expecting to get ourselves scared to the point that we need beta-blockers... The show lasted for 3 hours and there were only 2 words I could think of to describe it...

Boring. Lame.

What a disappointment!! As quoted by ah ming, it looked more like a comedy show to me due to my super duper high threshold. We just couldn't stop laughing at their rationale... Tak logic pun!!! DUH!!! And the only conclusion we came up with was that Beverly simply naik miang.. HAHAHA...

Pls refer to ah ming's blog for further details... By the way, just a wee secret to share.. Chua Ah Ming dengan paranoid-nya screamed (with her super high pitch tone), grabbed + scratched me and May like nobody's business when the clown first appeared... Uh hum uh hum... Chua Ah Ming, pui chin for all the keratinized epidermis cells I lost!! XD

Anyway, she was able to critic how lame the show was and laughed together with me and May towards the end of it... You can now judge how "scary" the show was by just looking at this, right? XP So, Ganas Voon, it's definitely way below ur threshold la... *so remember not to watch together with u-know-who, OK? No chance to turn around & cover ur eyes & hug hug de, alright? XD*

Eh eh, show some respect, OK? It was once voted as "The Scariest Movie of All Time" lorrrr!! DUH!!!~~ XD

mY fIRst cHEesEc@kE!!!!!~~~

Another post on food... XD I really shouldn't be eating that much la... How I wish I could just inflate and deflate as easily as a balloon... Yeah.. I wish... XP

Anyway, I baked my first very own cheesecake today!!! A successful attempt!! *Totally ignoring the fact that the cheesecake expanded too much and "exploded"* YIPPIE!!!~~ XD

Found the recipe for chocolate cheesecake supreme online.. So I just followed step by step, except the part on making crust with chocolate wafer crumbs. Ulu Malaysians tak tau apa tu chocolate wafer crumbs la.. So instead, I crushed my Sainsbury's chocolate chips cookies and made them the crust. Kaka... Also, there should be 1/3 cup of chocolate chips in the cheese layer.. However, giam siap ppl like me was unwilling to invest on chocolate chips before I even knew whether my cheesecake would jadi or not.. That was my first attempt to actually bake a cake ma!! A cheesecake somemore leh!!! Can't blame me for being giam siap... *shrug* =P

Haven't tasted the cheesecake, yet. Gotta wait till Ganas Voon comes back from work then only we will have it as supper! Kekeke... It smells nice though! Hopefully it will taste equally as nice la! Wish me luck! Huhuhu... =D

Chocolate cheesecake supreme!!~ OOSH!!! XD

cURry FrIEd rICe

So so so long didn't update my blog liao... Paisay paisay... Everytime came back from the Hong Kong Cafe also half dead liao... Pls forget about my previous post on how good the ppl were.. It was all but a show put up by them in front of the lady boss.. Am so glad that I actually survived... Will talk about it more in my other post..
As for now, I wanna share another new recipe I learned over the net here! Yup! It's curry fried rice!!!!! *chiang chiang chiang chiang chiang~~*

First, boil the rice. Remember to put slightly less water than usual so that they don't stick together when frying. Then, pan-fry garlic, onions, mushroom and ham (poor student like me can only afford these.. Of course u can substitute them with the luxurious seafoods or meats la). When they are almost cooked, beat an egg and add it in. Stir fry until the egg is cooked and then add in curry powder and a little bit of chili powder (depending on how spicy u want it to be). Fry for a while more and pour in the cooked rice. Then continue frying. Make sure the pan is hot enough because that is the key to yummilicious fried rice. The rice would actually jump (yes, jump! trust me!) around when the pan is heated hot enough. Then serve it hot and u are ready for a ride to heaven!!~ Ngek ngek ngek...

Curry fried rice!! WoOHOo~~ XD

I made this 3 days ago.. Overestimated my spicy threshold. Added too much chili powder and so I ended up perspiring and galloping down glasses and glasses of water while eating.. EeWWw!! (>_<") Hot & Spicy!!~ Rock & RoLL~~ XP My tongue was already burning before I was even half done.. Tak boleh tahan la! It was so much more spicy than Nando's extra hot piri-piri (OOh.. I miss Nando's...) la!! In the end I left the fried rice to cool while online-ing and finally managed to swallow everything down half an hour later... XP Still super duper spicy even after it turned cold lo.. Vermicelli Law sure si3 diao4 after one mouthful de... Kaka...XD Anyway, it was really very tasty le!! Shiok!! Felt as if I was back in Malaysia liao.. Kekeke... =P

Stomach went burning after that though... Diarrhoea later on at night tim! XD What a good way to lose weight, girls!! Enjoy the food without absorbing the fats!! What else can be more ideal than that??? XD Kakaka... Seriously, give it a try! =)

wORkINg...

Hmm hmm... I worked for the first time in my life yesterday night!!! Took up this part-time waitress job last Friday.. Basically, I had to do everything... From taking order, serving foods and making drinks to cleaning up the table, washing dishes, mopping the floor and wiping off grease and dirt from anywhere that seems dirty.. Phew... Wasn't easy, man! For that 5 pounds per hour... T_T Hmph! I won't give up so easily... Must survive for at least one week! To prove that I am not just a piece char siew who can't endure hardship!! And so that mama can praise me "very san seng" in front of others... Ooh! Proud~~ XD

I didn't even dare to skive a little bit.. The competition was intense... There was another Malaysian gal from Raman College working as a full-time waitress.. Wah liao! I wonder how long can I keep my rice bowl with her around... Haha... She's quite good looking, slim, very hardworking, able to speak English, and her Cantonese is SO SO SOOOOOOOO much better than mine!!! Also, from my own observation, this gal is very good at curry favouring my lady boos le!! Served her dinner somemore... Geng!! But she's nice la... Ooh.. Did I mention that because this is a Hongkee restaurant (own by a pair of Hongkee suami-isteri), all of them there communcate in Cantonese. So, I had to force myself to speak Cantonese even though my Cantonese sucks to the max!! Sigh.. Who asked me itchy buttock claimed that I could speak Cantonese during my intervew... Heard from another waitress from China that a lot of ppl wanted this job badly.. *Ooh.. I din know...* This gal is very kind... I started working at the peak hour... No training at all and I had to start work immediately... Luckily she was there to guide me through... Thank you so much!! =)

One thing good is that the staffs there are all very friendly.. I didn't kena even though I spilled some leftover soup onto customer's table in front of the boss... XP By the way, dinner is provided!! Huhu... Can order anything on the menu from the kitchen.. Hehe... But I was kinda paisay to place my order since it was my first day... So the chef prepared Seafood fried mee for me!! Got so many big big prawns wor!!!~~ With some scallop, fish cake slices and vege, too!! OOOSH~~ Hang-fook-nya!! XD But the business was too good for me to sit down and start enjoying la.. So basically, I swallowed everything down within 5 minutes.. Now I actually feel nauseous when I come to think of that plate of Seafood fried mee... It's not that it tasted awful.. Quite delicious in fact... Just that I ate too fast liao... Eew... XP Haha...

Later gotta go work again starting from 6p.m. till 11p.m. Phew... CHUA PEI LING, GO GO JIA YOU!!!~~~ YOU CAN DO IT for the sake of the money!!!~~~ MUA HAHAHA... =P

mERcH@nt cIty fEStiV@L

Huhuhu... Still super lazy to blog at the moment... Why ah why ah? Could I have accidentally caught infection that causes laziness from Czech or Germany??? Arh.. Maybe I should start off with a post with many many pictures since "a picture paints a thousand words", as the saying goes. Kaka... =P

So, me and housemates Eng Su Ka, Ah Xin and Ganas Voon went to attend the Merchant City Festival going on near our campus yesterday. Hmm... Basically, there was nothing much to see. However, there was this French market selling real loads of tempting foods + snacks!!! Oooh ooh... I bought 2.80 pounds worth of super duper chun smoked cashews!! *Finished them all within 2 days time* XP Fancy spending RM20 on nuts alone.. I must be nuts!!!!! XD

EJ, something like this is only fit to be called a "nice graffiti" lo...
Unlike those on Berlin Wall... Erm... (-_-")

Super cute baby statue!!~ =)
and Hee Sheong, this is for you! "Ang moh baby got bigger meh??" XD

Then the four of us couldn't resist the call of a traditional French food known as Chicken A'la Provencale with New Potatoes and took out 4.50 pounds to give it a try. Oosh!!~ It was damn nice la!! The chicken somemore got grilled satay fragrance leh!! Yum... ^^

Chicken A'la Provencale with New Potatoes and our "tam chiak" look XD

Chicken A'la Provencale with New Potatoes close up! Yum~
Spot the chicken wing we purposely "digged up" from beneath the potatoes!

A postcard shot! Who dares to say Glasgow is not beautiful? *no idea what's this building though*

We found this bar known as Da Gate while exploring around and decided to have our dinner there. Talking about giam-siap-ness, we barged into the bar so that we would be able to place our orders before 7p.m. when the promotion of 2 tapas for the price of 6.95 pounds would end. Keke.. The ambience was surprisingly good! Very suitable for dating or small group gathering. The waitresses were all super friendly, too! We were brought to a corner meant for dining, known as Secret Garden. Apparently Da Gate was "the gate leading to the secret garden"!! How romantic and artistic that idea was!! =)

Was expecting some Italiano cuisine when I found out that they were actually expert in Asia Pacific foods! What a surprise!! Haha.. The service was good. It seriously did not look like a place where u could have a decent meal with just 6.95 pounds only! Anyway, we quickly placed our orders at 6:58p.m. to be eligible for the offer. Cheapo!! But who cares??? XD

Housemates!! =)

Posing before the foods arrived. Lalala~ XD

Soon the foods arrived. And now, be prepared to get ur saliva drooling all over the place. Woo hoo hoo...

Prawn Piri-piri Tapas

Sweet and Sour Fish Tapas

King Prawn Tempura Tapas

Lamb Meat Balls Tapas

Crab Meat and Potato Fritters Tapas

Needless to say, the food was awesome!!! Oosh!! Those meant to be spicy one were really spicy. Much more spicy than ang moh can tahan. Most importantly, the dishes were made from seafoods!!! SEAFOODS!!!!!~~~ Real fresh seafoods!!!!! Can feel the prawns "doink doink" in my mouth somemore! The chef didn't overcook them. Thumbs up!! Felt as if I was swimming in the deep cooling sea with the soothing sea breeze blowing on my face... Like shooting MTV like that.... Aaahh.... XD Anyway, that was my first time getting the taste of fresh prawn in Glasgow le... Sob sob.. Why must seafoods be so expensive here??? T_T

And, the final shot of the day... Tada!!!~~

The building right opposite Da Gate. A church maybe..
Nice leh? Glasgow's night view also not bad ma, right? =P

Aaahh... What a satisfying outing... Am so lucky and blessed... =)

So, what's for lunch today? Yong Chow fried rice!!! Huhuhu.. but it's the westernized version, i.e. with sliced sausages.. Haha.. no choice la.. fridge is currently super empty.. Gotta wait till Ganas Voon is back from trip then only we will do grocery shopping together... But still, it tasted superb.. Maybe I simply miss Chinese food too much liao ba.. Haha...

Yong Chow fried rice!!

So today I saw this jumper in Primark when we went for toiletries shopping (dun ask me how we ended up in Primark). Been looking for something like this for a very loooong time already!! GAP is selling something similar for the price of 25 pounds lor... But I got this for 4 pounds only!! Cheap cheap!!! Mua haha.. LOVE IT!! Lalala~~ A bit low-cut for me since I carry an "airport" on the front part of my body... But who cares!! I can always pull it up or wear a tube inside one ma.. Ngek ngek ngek...

sUpER dE hE@lTHy LUncH

Since I have fallen sick over the past few days, coughing like hell which wakes me up naturally without fail everday 6 or 7a.m. in the morning, mama thus forbids me from eating "heaty" foods. Being a good girl (more because I wanna get rid of the super duper annoying morning cough), I decided to obey. This really throws me into a desperate position since being a poor student here in UK already leave me with very little choices of foods for lunch... No grilling, no frying, and I have no porcelein bowl for steaming... Wah liao eh!! How to cook la like that???!!

At 2p.m. in the afternoon, I still had no idea what to cook for today's lunch. No wanting my lunch to turn into teatime, so in the end, desperate ppl came up with desperate recipe... First, I steamed the rice (Poor students DO have rice cooker la, even though we have no porcelein bowl.. DUH!!~). At the same time, I fried some onions with mushrooms and then added water and milk to make a gravy to pour over the rice and accidentally added too much milk.. #*%&@ celaka betul... So I had to add some flour to make the gravy thicken.. After that, I added in an egg to turn the gravy light yellow so that it looked more appetizing only to realize that I forgot to beat the egg first before adding it into the gravy... So it now stared right back at me like a mata kerbau... The consequence of being even more forgetful when rushing... Grrrr... Dun want mata kerbau la... not eating nasi lemak also... So, I poke the egg yolk open with the ladle and stir the entire mixture vigorously... Oh well, now the egg yolk "solubilized" into the gravy while the egg white solidified... Argh... Who gave a damn!! I just scooped it out straight and poured it over the rice...

and so, this was how it looked like... (-_-")

More like a bowl of rice covered in cat's vomit... YEEEWW!!~ But it didnt taste as bad as it looked la... In fact, not bad at all... Hey, I finished eating everything, OK? Not that I am trying to defend my cooking skill or what lor... or maybe because I was simply too hungry that even cat's vomit tasted nice to me... (><") My turn to vomit now... XP
Oooh ooh, by the way this pic was taken using my new phone Sony Ericsson K800i!! Woohoo~~ I have a new phone lu~~ ^^

tErIMa k@SiH LuYI~~ =D

So, on the 23rd of August 2007, Lu Yi treated her housemates and I dinner to compensate for abandoning us by getting exempted from PP3 Degree Exam. Who asked her to be the one saying "exempted liao must belanja ya!!" out loud during Hee Sheong's birthday celebration neh? Kekeke.. XD Eh, don't u dare to say that we bullied her lo!! Choosing between "getting exempted and belanja" or "not being exempted but having free foods to eat", the choice is obvious lor isn't it?!! DUH!!~~ PP3 is damn freaking hard to pass le!! XP

So, 5 of us headed to Ah Fhern's so-called "Whatever-Hang-Out Place", i.e. Campus East, which is just 5 minutes walk away from our hostel, armed with 4 booklets of vouchers, with Lu Yi "gi gi gut gut" shouting, "Eh, really want Campus East meh? So many vouchers.. If I dun get to pay for anything tonight, I will feel very bu shuang de leh..." Ah cheh, and she thought we were going to let her off so easily??? Ngek ngek ngek... By the way, these 4 housemates naik miang and decided to dress up nicely for the night.. Told me the theme of the night was , i.e. showing as much flesh as possible somemore.. Tsk tsk tsk... So all of them were in skirts that night, while I had to wear singlet with short pants as a consequence of not bringing any skirt over to UK.. XD

Voucher is simply the best invention on Earth, man!! By making full use of it, Lu Yi only had to fork out 12++ pounds for the drinks and foods which were enough send us bloating all night long.. The foods consisted of 2 super big pizzas, 1 plate of Rocky Mountain Chicken (chicken breast with bacon and cheese topping), and 1 Spicy Chicken Tortillas.. Yum Yum.. Not bad!! Quite tasty in fact!! Keke... Wern had a hard time though, because all dishes also contained her "favourite" food, i.e. cheese!! Haha.. What a waste.. It was H-E-A-V-E-N to us on the other hand le. The more cheesy the merrier!!! Mua hahaha.. Well, in case u wonder why we didn't take any photo of the foods, our stomachs were growling like crazy by the time the foods arrived. Kakaka.. =P

After the sumptuous meal, we were simply too lazy to move so we continued chit-chatting. I guess it must be due to Yi Jie's super seductive plunging neckline that an Asian-looking stranger took the opportunity to approach us when Qristine's camera fell onto the floor as she shifted in her seat. Qristine and Yi Jie were the only two he could see from his angle and according to Qristine later on, he had been staring at us for quite some time already.. Hmm.. But I think he seriously needs to brush up his pick-up lines..

"Hey, what happened? I heard a huge crack from my place. Was it your chair? Haiyo.. Too fat already la.. Time to go on diet lo.." (-_-") *all of us went speechless immediately*

Then, leaving Qristine out, he started guessing our age, saying that me, Lu Yi and Khang Wern looked like 小妹妹 (little gal) but Yi Jie looked like a research student. Lu Yi felt so "Ouch!" when he said she was only of the age of a Primary 6 student. Then he brought his beer over, sitting down next to me without even asking for permission, and started talking about Taiwan political stuffs with his eyes fixed on Yi Jie.. Apparently, he thought we were from Taiwan.. We could only give him a nervous laugh and throw him the you-are-not-welcome-here look. He didnt seem to get the signal, though.. His pi li pa la of "国民党... 民进党... 共产党..." whatsoever stuffs went on.. He assured us that he meant no harm and introduced himself as a Neurologist working on acute stroke in the Royal Infirmary and then showed us his name card as an evidence, but none of us took his words for real.

When he finally realized that we weren't, by any chance, interested in whatever he was talking about, he decided that he should switch to talk about the current pop idols and touched my upper arm as he did so!! Lucky him.. for he was in time to take his hand off before I gave him a Taekwondo back elbow shot on the stomach. Celaka betul... At this point, Qristine saved the world by voicing out to him that we were "in a rush of time" and so had to leave immediately. He seemed reluctant to let us go at first, for he didnt even move his butt a single inch following that. However, he had no choice but to give way when all of us stood up and started moving outwards. Once we were out of the bar, we walked all the way back to JBC at full speed while at the same time kept looking backwards, making sure that he wasn't tailing us behind..

And when we were finally back to the familiar surrounding of JBC once more, aaahh... who cares about some psycho neurologist freak from Hong Kong anymore? It's camwhore session!! Lalala~~ =P

Huhuhu.. Come come.. let jie jie touch touch... XD

Set up!!! It's me looking the fattest again!! Grr...

Look at Yi Jie's plunging neckline!! WoOHOo~~ No wonder le... XD
Last but not least,
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TREAT, LU YI!!!!! *even though we were the one who threatened u to belanja in the first place*
CONGRATULATIONS FOR NOT HAVING TO SEE AUNTY ANNE ANYMORE!!!!!
MUACKS!!!~~ ^^
