Wah liao!! Know what? We had fire alarm drill early in the morning again yesterday!!!

It was 4:50a.m. this time... 4:50A.M.!!!!!

I just handed in my CPP essay 2 days ago and obviously I was tired like anything la. Was sleeping like a pig when the fire alarm went ringing like nobody's business. First thing came into mind..

"Wah liao!! Is this a prank ah?? Am I dreaming??"

Then realized that I wasn't and reluctantly dragged my heavy ass out into the cold winter night.. Left Ah Rein behind this time. No mood la.. Super cranky!! Afterall, I assumed it wasn't a real fire and so he most probably wouldn't be burnt to death one la.. Oopsy!! Sorry, Ah Rein!!! XP

Apparently it was the ang mohs staying in G3 unit again. This was their 4th time triggering the fire alarm liao eh!! Yet they didn't have any guilty look on their faces for waking the whole world up!! The trigger of their last three records was the same, i.e. smoking!! Kanasai eh!! Annoying dao~ Go smoke their heads off la, stupiak!!

According to moody + cranky + sleepwalking firemen, the fire alarm this time round was triggered when those stupiak ang mohs were "cooking dinner". HUH??! What?!! Dinner at 4:50a.m. are u kidding me?!!

Aiya.. maybe they were trying to "cook" their lungs with the smoke from their cigarettes la WTH...

By the way, the fire alarm at 5:45a.m. few days ago was caused by our fren who was cooking breakfast in preparation of GP Visit. Of course it's forgiveable!! Plus, breakfast makes so much more sense than dinner, okay?!! And our fren went around apologizing for the accident..

BUT, our fren was scolded "Don't u know how to close the door?" while these stupiak chimneys of G-3 were spared!! How unfair!! Now only ang mohs can trigger fire alarm at God-forbidden-hours but Chinese can't lar??!!! DUH!!! Ciak sai!!!

Whoa!! This is seriously something worth mentioning!!

Just came back to my room from the freezing cold outside. We just had a fire alarm drill at 5.45A.M.!! Look closely, it's 5:45A.M.!!!!!

It practically woke almost everyone up from their sleep, except for some of us who were still up doing CPP, and some of us who had already woken up.

Well, surprisingly, I belong to the latter category this time!! Cause I happily K.O.-ed at 10p.m. last night. Supposed to wake up at 12a.m. to do my CPP one lar, but when I opened my eyes, it was already 5a.m. liao.. SHOOT!! (T_T)

Those who were still sleeping apparently got very cranky la.. So I happily raised their cranky-ness level by letting my Ah Rein to flirt with them (specifically referring to Chua Ming & Vermicelli Law).. XD Even sexy firemen also appeared cranky eh!! XP

And hor, I realized that ang mohs are seriously CHEE SIN one.. Apparently they hadn't slept yet cause they were still in their outdoor attire & stuffs. And guess what they were doing? DRINKING!!! Oh my gosh.. They still had that wine in their hands when they came out!!! ALCOHOLIC dao!!!!!

Seems like the drill was caused by my neighbour's adjoining unit. According to sexy firemen, they forgot to close the fire door when cooking, which I don't really think so lar, cause we did smell and see smoke coming out of their kitchen's window. Will update u kepo ppl as soon as I get to "pat" something from my neighbours. Kakaka... =P

Yo yo!! It's the leap day today!! Once in every four years eh!! Decided that I must write something on such a special day for remembrance sake. Keke... =)

So, it's the 29th of February, 2008 and I am here in Glasgow!!

I woke up in the morning, regretting for pigging early again last night, having written not even a single word for my CPP and Pharmcare essays... GAH!!! (-__-"')

Then I attended "Gene Therapy" lectures delivered by Dr. Christine Dufes. Was expecting Prof. Clive Wilson but he was off to Budapest dy.. Shiok-nye~ Anyway, I got totally inspired by Dr. Dufes cause she's so geng!!!!! So young yet she's already lead so many gene therapy studies & published so many research articles!! She even discovered a new gene delivery system which is more efficacious but less toxic than the best one available on the market now!! Like whoa!! (Know Xin will be very pleased to see this. Ish.. MY Dr. Fiona is very geng as well lor, okay?!!)

Then, for the FIRST TIME in my entire life, I borrowed journals from the library!! 4 altogether somemore eh!! NERD dao~~ XP Thanks to my "exotic" CPP topic la!! "Alcoholic Liver Disease + Hepatic Encephalopathy" wth... Limited electronic journals (that our ciplak univesity has subscribe to) focus on these la.. Bo pian... And THANK GOD I saw Geok Ying (role model!!) in the library!! If not I seriously had no idea where to look for, and how to borrow a journal lor... XP Final year pharmacy student I am, huh? Anyways, am still proud of my "great" achievement today lor.. XD Don't laugh at me lar, u nerdy ppl...

At night, me & housies made wan tan in celebration of the leap day!! Uh hum... Actually just an excuse to binge eat la.. But well, the wan tan was AWESOME, can??!!! And mind you, we took it with chili padi somemore!! OOSH!!~ Except for Su Ann who doesn't like pork, we took TWELVE wan tan EACH, okay????? Stomach bloated like I'm pregnant with a 5 months old baby... *burp* XD Pure bliss, pure bliss ah... =P

Think am gonna spend the rest of my "leap night" looking into sien journal articles. What an "exciting" way to "celebrate" the leap day, man!! XP Haiyo.. Ate until too full liao la.. Blood all diverted to the GI tract liao.. Brain not functioning dy lar.. Parasympathetic dao~ XP Can I go read some manga or watch some movies first?? XD

Yer... I used to be very confident with my typing speed one leh... Mana tau Chua Ming can type as fast as / even faster than me!! Mm fan hei!! XP Maybe one day we should PK each other and see who is the faster & better typer le.. Kakaka... XP

GP Visit

Had my GP Visit session together with the other CPL today. Haha.. It was very interactive and educational!! Super fun & interesting nonetheless. I totoally enjoyed it!! Woo hoo~~ =D

Our session was in Kingsway Medical Centre, the public-toilet-look-alike surgery according to Ming. XD I gotta agree with her, though. The surgery really wasn't glamorous looking at all le.. Haha.. XD

However, I must say that the setting was very patient-friendly. Unlike Malaysian's clinic, it doesn't give u a "stressful" kinda feeling, if u know what I mean. It doesn't stink with the smell of antiseptic and medicines as well.

Basically, we just sat in the room with Dr. Henderson and watched him examined the patient while making diagnosis. Of course the patient's consent was seeked for before we were allowed to do so, which was good. Wah lao, back in Malaysia we just simply went around the ward clerking cases, paying no respect to patient's privacy whatsoever, man wth..

Anyway, the cases were quite diverse in nature. There was even one drug addict who was on Methadone and Diazepam, and an alcoholic who suffered a blow to his lower spinal cord when he was invovled in a fight. Of course there were also common cases like benign warts, epigastric pain with heartburn, duodenal ulceration, persistent cough, H. Pylori infection, and COPD patient with chest infection.

Doctor actually showed us the way to check if the alcoholic patient's spinal cord was crooked, and also let us listened to the basal crackles in the lungs of the COPD patient. The experience was SOOOO cool wei I tell u...

By the way, did I mention that the young lady who suffered from duodenal ulcer was in a T-Back? Wakakaka.. Black in colour, with bling bling somemore leh!! Sexy wei!! XD

"I'm bringing Sexyback (yeah)...... Go, go ahead be bold with it..." XD

Another thing is that patients here are well-informed of their conditions. They know what drugs they are on and the indications of the drugs as well. The T-Back young lady (shoot! I really shouldn't be calling her that! XD Empathy, CPL!! EMPATHY!!!!!) even knows that her father died of Haemochromatosis and she is a carrier of the genes and asked if her duodenal ulcer was related to the genetic disease!! WTH!!!!! Me as a future pharmacist dun even know what Haemochromatosis is and I have no idea if I even got the spelling right, wth!! XP

Btw, FYI, Dr. Henderson was such a cutie!! XD He's super duper friendly, nice, gentleman, and knowledgeable!! Not to forget the fact that he was so MAN!!!~~ The George Clooney kind of man-ness, ya know? He treated us to coffee and "Mr. Kipling" (which was a cup cake actually. Haha.. everything about him is just cute!!) after the session. He even washed our cups for us!!! AWWWW... So sweet of him, right? Am in love!! Will u marry me??? Even though I am already the wife of Jensen Ackles??? XD XD

Eh, this is to all the leng luis out there! Dun fight against me for Dr. Henderson ya!! He's 40- or 50-year-old plus already lar. U have much better choices out there le. Save him for a pathetic someone like me lar, okay?? He's mine!! He's mine!! XD

The mak cik nurses there were really nice and friendly, too!! They offered us tea when we first arrived. (Anyone who offered me food would automatically be catogorized as "nice". Ish...) They seem to have very tight bonding among each other, and with the doctors as well. They were writing these super cute "Happy Retirement" cards for their retiring colleagues and they told us they were doing "VERY important" things. Hahaha... I like, can? So sweet!! =)

The weather was sunny, the ppl were truly nice, my partner was great, and my afternoon nap lasted for 3 hours (pig!)... What more can I ask for? =D

哈呐，哈呐。。没有啦！我的生活还没有潦倒到这种程度啦。至少我搞掂了 Research Project 的 Method 还有今天的 Pharmcare presentation，虽然被教授狂炸问题，还在我的feedback栏里说我太罗嗦了。。。OUCH!!!!! 伤心。。（T_T）

I AM SO STOKED!!!!!~~~

It really did snow all night long!!!!!

The snow had acccumulated on the grass, on the car, on the tree, on the roof, on basically everything in sight!!!!! Woot Woot~~ XD

Woke up to Su Ann's & Xin Yin's morning call, blurred to the max, thought I was running late for class, then was told to look out of the window, and I got totally stunned by what I saw!!! SNOW EVERYWHERE!!! Man, I couldn't believe my eyes!!! Woohoo~~

Immediately put on my GAP char siew winter jacket on top of my pajama and ran out with housemates into the snow, without brushing teeth, without washing face, and without combing hair. Mua hahaha... Who cares???!! XP

And then we camwhored like nobody's business. Bwa hahaha... Fhern, Wai Meng, Ah Cia, Bao & Leah were already there. We made snowballs to throw at each other and got our fingers completely numbed. Then we cuddled around and put our hands into each other's pocket, chanting "Aww.. So cold.. So cold...". But when we could feel our fingers again, we started yet another round of snowball fight and repeated the entire process.. XD It was still snowing. So I opened my mouth wide wide while jumping up & down, like those Chinese style zombies in Hongkee movies if u get what I mean, and tried to get the snow down my throat. Wakakaka...

Yeah yeah, we are a whole bunch of idiots and I am undoubtedly the most idiotic one. Stupiak Malaysians never see snow before, but so what?? We had fun... Loads of fun, in fact... So, just sue me if u are unhappy!! Mua hahaha... =P

23-01-2008 was the last day of our final year research project lab sessions. Well, me and group members had a great time and called it a "happy ending" for one particular brainless idiot didn't turn up at all that day. It was a good thing because otherwise he would most probably have screwed everything up again by uttering some useless nonsense and giving us "encouragement". Hmph...

Anyway, we managed to complete what we were supposed to do for the day an hour before the lab had to be closed. What else to do but CAMWHORE??!!! XD And u thought we would be contented with a 7 Mega Pixels digicam? Nah.. U are so wrong, pal!! We camwhored using Jocelyn's super sophisticated + advanced + non-idiot-proof DSLR camera, OKAY?!! Tsk tsk tsk... Glamorous-nya~~ XD Forced our extremely easy-going and friendly lab technicians into joining us somemore. Kakaka... =P

Been in a super shitty mood for the past few days. All thanks to my super "brilliant" research project supervisor who happily engaged the 6 of us in an experiment of which he himself has no idea what the heck it's all about. Experiment failed in the end. The compounds that we synthesised simply refuse to do what they are supposed to do. While we are trying so hard to figure out what went wrong, all this stupiak idiot could come out with are:

She's my labby, i.e. lab partner. In fact, the most bestest labby one could ever ask for. Upon hearing my super depressing stories last night, she bought me a BK Fusion to cheer me up while she was out shopping just now!! Brought it all the way to my unit somemore even though it was raining. Aww... super "gam dong" wei!! Sob sob... Wanted so much to hug her but she rejected. OUCH!!! Haha... =)

Ah Bibi, the BK Fusion definitely brightened me up immediately!! You saved my day!! Not depressed/sad/stressful anymore liao... Hehe... It was so sweet of u... Aww... =)

Blogging from the hostel we are staying in, Mona Lisa. Haha... Tell u what, this hostel is great! If anyone of u were to come to Rome in the future, do come and put a night over here. The facilities provided are awesome and the management team are superb!! They are friendly, helpful, and they speak fluent English most importantly. Haha... Am enjoying my stay here... =)

However, so far the experiences in Italy are kinda bad though. First night, we arrived in Milan. We had to take the subway to reach the tourist spots, but there was no one working at the ticket counter. We had to buy the tickets from the ticket machine, which was in Italiano!! Goodness... Was totally lost... Then got cheated by this stupiak SOB... Actually, he literally snatched my money away from me. Luckily I was smart and fast enough to react, so he only managed to get 10Euros out of my purse. Idiot!! Long story.. Will post more about it after I get back to Glasgow le..

Then we took the night train from Milan to Rome. It was on a "free seating" basis. We thought it was no big deal, not like we were that particular about where to sit. But we were obviously wrong!! "Free seating" means they will accept as many customers as they could, without considering the number of seats available on the train!! The train was freaking packed!! We couldn't even squeeze onto the train initially. Finally, we got ourselves in but we had to stand all through the ride, which would last for 8 hours... OH MY GOSH!!! All the stupiak smokers standing next to us kept smoking every 5 minutes somemore. Wah liao!! Hello, confined area wei!!~ Use ur brain la!! Luckily we managed to squeeze ourselves into the corridor around 1 hour later and we sat on our luggages to sleep. Sad case wei... Like homeless ppl... Couldn't really sleep also cause it was really very uncomfortable and those stupiak smokers kept walking in and out to smoke. Gosh... What a night, man!!

Things got better when we reached Rome yesterday. At least ppl here do speak English. We visited the Palentino and reached the highlight of Rome, i.e. the Colosseum at around 335p.m. only to be told that it was closed 5 mins before we arrived. WAH LIAO EH!!!! What the heck?? So early???!! We bought the tickets already actually.. Depressed betul... We thought of visiting it again today, but it's not opened. Christmas ma.. Sob sob sniff sniff... Could only meraba-raba the wall and waved Bye Bye to it... T_T

Anyway, today we are going to Vatican City to say "Hi ya" to the pope. Haha... Felt much better after a good night sleep. And u know why I have so much time to blog? Because except for me and Wern, all my travelling mates overslept... Dots... And they slept earlier than us somemore... Even the "tour guide" Xing Wu De overslept... A whole bunch of pigs!!! I had to wake them up 15 mins before the management team cleared the breakfast away. Otherwise, they would have to starve all the way to Vatican City... God knows if they would be too hungry till they eat the pope alive!! XD Wakakaka...

Ok la... I guess that's all for today. Looking forward to our visit to the Vatican City... Must borrow the "hat" from the pope and take picture with it... Kakaka... XD
